My Therapeutic Approach

Healing often begins when you have a safe space to explore your story, understand your patterns, and begin creating new ways of relating to yourself and others. As a therapist trained in Marriage and Family Therapy, I take a relational and systemic approach, meaning we look not only at individual experiences but also at the relationships and environments that shape your life.

I integrate several evidence-based therapy modalities to support individuals, couples, and families seeking healing from trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional stress.

Modalities Used

EMDR Therapy (Trauma Therapy)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories that may still feel “stuck.” Many clients seek EMDR therapy for:

  • Childhood trauma

  • Relationship trauma

  • Anxiety and panic

  • PTSD

  • Emotional triggers connected to past experiences

EMDR allows the brain to reprocess painful memories, so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on understanding how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other. CBT helps clients:

  • Identify negative thinking patterns

  • Develop healthier coping strategies

  • Reduce anxiety and depression

  • Build emotional resilience

This approach is practical, collaborative, and goal oriented.

Structural Family Therapy

Structural Family Therapy examines the roles, boundaries, and interaction patterns within family systems. This approach is especially helpful for:

  • Parent-child conflict

  • Family communication challenges

  • Blended family dynamics

  • Understanding generational patterns

By strengthening boundaries and improving relational structure, families can move toward healthier connection and stability.

The Gottman Method (Couples Therapy)

The Gottman Method is one of the most researched approaches to couple's therapy. It helps partners:

  • Improve communication

  • Navigate conflict more effectively

  • Rebuild trust

  • Strengthen emotional intimacy

This model focuses on building a stronger foundation for long-term relationship success.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy helps couples and individuals understand the emotional patterns driving relationship struggles. EFT focuses on:

  • Attachment needs

  • Emotional safety in relationships

  • Breaking negative communication cycles

  • Creating deeper emotional connection

Imago Relationship Therapy

Imago Therapy explores how childhood experiences influence the relationships we form as adults. This approach helps couples develop deeper empathy, understanding, and intentional communication.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy invites you to explore the stories you carry about yourself and your life experiences. Through this process, clients often discover new perspectives that support healing, empowerment, and personal growth.

Solution-Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on your strengths and your vision for change. Rather than staying stuck in problems, this approach helps you identify practical steps toward the life and relationships you want.

Areas of Focus

Therapy may support clients experiencing:

  • Trauma and childhood wounds

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Relationship challenges

  • Family conflict

  • Life transitions

  • Identity and self-worth work

  • Emotional regulation
